Supporting Women Thanks to Non-Monogamy
Combating Pick-Me Girls
I have witnessed and also experienced an alarming amount of resentment towards women who are not here to support other women. As I look around, the influx of pick-me girls, jealous women, and those who simply will not believe others experiences, demanding proof of their experiences is growing at a rapid rate. Which honestly, disappoints me, considering we have lived through the #MeToo movement and had a chance to do better. I’ve ranted about this in my article called “What’s the Tea: A Disturbing Look into What Really Happens When Women Unite” and after sitting with this discomfort for a few months, I finally realized that it wasn’t just maturity and wisdom that wizened me up. Nope, it was my crash course in non-monogamy and having to face all of my insecurities and myths about women head on, that actually allowed me to accept, love, and support from those with whom I would otherwise have battled. Because though I loath to admit it, I too used to think that women were my competition. And let me tell you, that is no way to live!
So, let’s dig a little deeper into this shall we? And talk about how we can actually overcome being a pick-me girl, and learn to trust and support other women, with a little help from my lessons in non-monogamy.
