A Disturbing Look into What Really Happens When Women Unite
“Wait, there is a website for what?” I asked my best friend incredulously. As she went on to explain, there was indeed a place for women to go to ask for the tea or red flags on men they were dating. My mind was blown. Where the hell was this site when I was in the throngs of dating hell? I quickly looked it up and went through the long list of rules and all the hoops that the creators went through to keep the men out. I was so excited that such a place existed. And in my naïve and overly optimistic mind I signed up, hoping that I could finally put some of my dating horror stories to good use, by anonymously providing tips and information that could keep other women safe.
When I was finally approved, having adequately verified that I was indeed a woman, and promised to never screen shot what I had seen with any men, or woman for that matter I started perusing the interface, looking for familiar faces from my past. In those first few days, I recognized no one that I had actually had any meaningful interactions with. So, I did what any reasonable person does, and I learned how the site actually worked and saw how people spoke to each other. It all seemed very reasonable to me. A woman would share a photo of a man she was dating and ask if anyone knew about any red flags or wanted to comment…
